TOPIC:   Current Research on Shiftwork Impacts:  An update on shift work tolerance

WHEN: December 11, 2019

WHERE: Environmental Health & Safety Center, 1000 Regent Drive, Boulder, CO 80309 - Room 220

TIME: 11:30 am

Back by Popular Demand!  Last year's Lunch and Learn on this topic was one of the most well attended Lunch and Learns in recent history.  Dr. Vetter will give an overview on the current understanding on shift work tolerance, implications for health, and extend last year’s talk by also addressing injury and accident risk, as well as inter-individual differences in shift work tolerance (both topics that participants asked quite a few questions about last year).

Do you have employees on shift work?  Do your employees work extended shifts?  Do shifts begin before 6 am?  How is their health impacted by that?  What new approaches are there to minimize the health affects of shift work?

Dr. Celine Vetter operates the Circadian and Sleep Epidemiology Laboratory (CASEL) at CU Boulder.  Her research includes work in light, circadian rhythms, sleep, and health, as well as shift work, work hours, and health impacts.
